FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
How often do I need to paint or stain my home?
Generally, you should expect to recoat your house every 7-10 years for plaster exteriors; approximately 10 years for painted weatherboard cladding systems; and every 2-3 years for stained timber.
What colour should I paint my house?
We assist our clients with colour selection by offering a free colour consult with a professional colour specialist. The specialist will have extensive knowledge of the different systems we can apply.
Should I paint my older home in a dark colour?
Yes, you can. However, there are some things you should think about.
The increased heat generated by darker-coloured coatings can lead to inter-coat adhesion failure. We do not recommend dark-coloured coatings over aged substrates and existing coatings, as the heat generated will shorten the service life of the underlying coatings.
Will targeted repairs increase the value of my home?
Properties in need of repairs, especially those with high moisture readings in the wall structure, will limit the number of potential purchasers and result in a lower sale price.
Targeted repairs can help to achieve a better sale price and help to ensure small problems don’t become big problems that are more expensive to fix.
